Swarm! came about after a collective realization that our crew had come from, and takes part in, many different aspects of life. Like riding critical mass with a custom made race bike the night before a double century. Or riding a fixed gear to a century and sleeping in the bushes. Are we punks who do athletic things or athletes who do punk things? We are not really sure. Swarm! is our umbrella for all of that. And more. From art projects to environmental/bicycle advocacy to racing the ‘hardest 48 hours in sport’ (the Furnace Creek 508). We just know that riding bikes is good for us, good for the environment and good for the community. And it is simply more fun than sitting inside a damn car. If we can ride to work (or not to work if we are so lucky) and ride road races, why can’t everyone else?
